Hola
Last week while spending time with my pastry chef Dee also known as my best friend, we were able to explore this beautiful city in Atlanta. As exhausted as my wife and I were by Sunday, I am able to see a different side to what this city has to offer.
Pastry LIVE was the first event we went to see, ate lots of chocolate (who's complaining?) That is right!!!! My FACE!! It was GREAT though. There were plenty of pastry chefs competing for the best dessert in town, and I must admit the plating was pretty phenomenal. Unfortunately we missed the first day which was when the cakes below were completed, which they all deserved to win! :)
Food truck Tuesday- this is where the food trucks gather around at a park in Smyrna and lots of people bring their families (including pups) while enjoying great food and some good laughs. My wife and I chose the Latin truck (Puerto Rican food) we chose the "Ropa Vieja" meal which consists of perfectly seasoned shredded meat, white rice, pinto beans and tostones (fried green plantains, cut into a mini size pancake) with a garlic sauce over them.... Yummm I am hungry talking about it! My best friend had a lobster roll and fried pickles... May I say, they were sooooo goood!?!?!?! Over all it was a great time spent.
Day 3 we went to World of Coca Cola- and explored the different types of sodas around the world. That was fun, but be ready to use the bathroom all day (that's your warning!) LOL.
From there we went to the Aquarium, although it was my second time there, I enjoyed it just as much as my first time.
The Aquarium brings me to a zen, everything around me means nothing. Seeing the dolphins, colorful fishies and penguins just makes me want to be swimming care free along side with them.
If you are ever in town, be sure to check out the beautiful places this city has to offer and I still have more to explore. In the mean time, I will continue to record the memories while sharing them with you!
